At this site in the Rozendaalstraat in Ypres, Melexis was born in 1988. Since then, this branch has already had several expansions, one more radical than the other. In 2010, an ambitious construction program was launched, in which the capacity at that time had to be doubled, both production space, office space and parking space. In order to make optimum use of the available space on the plot and to ensure that the various sections fit in well with the existing building, the various building parts were stacked on top of each other: underground parking, ground floor production space and two office floors. At the top, the communal relaxation room was laid, with a generous roof terrace and roof garden, with a view of the surrounding landscape and the towers of the city of Ypres. This relaxation area and the two underlying office floors are interconnected by an impressive void, which brings space and light into the heart of the building.
